Robotics and speech processing technology for the facilitation of social communication training in children with autism
- Contingent robots can help teach children with autism vital social communication skills.
- Children with autism will exhibit more social behaviors when interacting with a robot and trained therapist than in play sessions with a trained therapist and no robot.
- Following a series of sessions with a robot, children's increased social behavior will generalize to a non-robot assisted social setting.
